Gudahandi Hills

Gudahandi Hills is located around 17.6 km north-east of Ampani. Three hills together make the Gudahandi Hills which is known for the ancient caves that have beautiful paintings. In the eastern region, there is a valley that is formed by the joining of the northern and southern hills.

The red slate stone caves in these hills are considered to be natural caves. All the caves in these hills are of similar size, except the one in the northern region. The entrance of the caves in the southern region is painted in black and red colour. It is believed that the inscriptions and pictures of these caves belong to the Indus Valley Civilisation.
